On April 13th, men from St. Luke's attended the Better Man event at the UCF - CFE Arena. The Better Man event is designed to equip, encourage and engage men to be "better". The event has run the past 14 years and has similar events in various locations across the United States. The 2019 speakers at the Central Florida Better Man Event included: UCF Quarterback, Mckenzie Milton; Journey Band Member, Jonathan Cain; Four-time Heavyweight Champion of the World, Evander Holyfield; Founder and CEO of Hobby Lobby, David Green; Pastor and Author of "Called to Forgive", Anthony Thompson; amd Comedian, Brad Stine. We are very excited to announce a new ministry called GLOW (God Lights Our Way). GLOW is a student led “chapel like” experience for our middle school students, their parents, and staff. It is held in Founders’ Hall one afternoon a month. GLOW includes testimonies from students, contemporary praise music, and a message from an adult chosen by the students. Our hope is for students to participate in leading the music, tech, activities, and more. We want to create a God honoring experience that our students can really take ownership of. GLOW, (God Lights Our Way) is a praise experience designed for middle schoolers to actively participate in. We are so excited to have the middle school have their own time to praise God with modern songs in a contemporary setting. At each GLOW experience, a middle schooler gives their testimony, they hear from an adult speaker on a topic they have chosen and they participate in a tangible representation of the topic.
