Series Introduction:  The Jesus Adventure: Called → Equipped → Sent → and Restored. This is the pattern of life for the followers of Jesus. The pattern is reinforced in us through our weekly Worship. As we live the Adventure in our everyday lives we develop Wisdom—competence with regard to the complex realities of life. But how, exactly does that work? How are we supposed to live the Adventure in our everyday lives? For the next seven weeks we will explore the Bible’s teaching on what has come to be called Vocation. Vocation is a short-hand way to talk about what it looks like to follow Jesus. Perhaps the easiest way to think about vocation is to call it Service. What a great time we had at Roar VBS this year! We learned that Life is Wild but God is Good! Follow along on our journey from each day: Day 1  Life is unfair…God is good!  Sometimes it’s hard to see the good in unfair times. It’s normal to feel defeated and even to want to give up when life’s unfair. The Israelites probably wanted to give up many times when they were slaves in Egypt. But if we hold on and put our focus on God, God can help us see the good and totally change our attitudes.  Day 2  When life is scary…God is Good!  Most of us have different levels of fears. Some fears don’t stop us in our tracks, and then there are some so frightening that we don’t know where to turn. We’ve all experienced times in our lives we were so scared that we didn’t know what to do. Life can get crazy really fast! Like he had for the people of Israel, God has a plan for you, too, and wants to show you his goodness, even in the midst of the frightening darkness...

Over 50 people attended Marriage Night this past Saturday. Marriage Night was a one-night livestream event put on by RightNow Media. Couples learned from three sets of speakers how to have stronger Christ driven relationship. The speakers were: Couple Francis & Lisa Chan, Couple Les & Leslie Parrot, and comedian Michael Jr. The event encouraged husbands and wives to have a God-honoring relationship through refreshing and humorous looks at marriage.  "We had a great time and were reminded about the importance of having God in our marriage."     - Lisa C.  

Summertime is a great time to enjoy a movie. There are two movies being released this summer you may consider seeing with uplifting responses to tragedy and change. Emanuel   - The Untold Story of the Victims and Survivors of the Charleston Church Shooting  The Charleston, SC church shooting occurred on June 17, 2015. Emanuel tells the story of the victims and survivors of the shooting and their response. God tells us that "Hatred stirs up conflict, but love covers all wrongs" (Proverbs 10:12).  Learn about the stories from the shooting and their response that lives out God's love, even in the midst of rage and tragedy. Eggstravaganza was a blast!  Hundreds of kids and parents enjoyed a very special event celebrating the resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ. There were smiles all around! In addition there were egg hunts, bounce houses, hot dogs, music, face painting, and Story Stations where kids participated in activities and heard the Good News of the cross and empty tomb of Jesus. The Service Project allowed kids to help kids, by packing meals for children in need at Seminole County Schools. 350 meal packages were put together at Eggstravaganza! What a blessing for our community! Thank you to all of our volunteers who helped make Eggstravaganza an awesome experience this year!

On April 13th, men from St. Luke's attended the Better Man event at the UCF - CFE Arena. The Better Man event is designed to equip, encourage and engage men to be "better". The event has run the past 14 years and has similar events in various locations across the United States. The 2019 speakers at the Central Florida Better Man Event included: UCF Quarterback, Mckenzie Milton; Journey Band Member, Jonathan Cain; Four-time Heavyweight Champion of the World, Evander Holyfield; Founder and CEO of Hobby Lobby, David Green; Pastor and Author of "Called to Forgive", Anthony Thompson; amd Comedian, Brad Stine.
